Laurin Ulrich extends contract with VfB Stuttgart

08. Jul 2022

The 17-year-old has extended his contract for the long term. Laurin Ulrich joined VfB’s youth training center as an eleven-year-old in the summer of 2016. Since then, he has been through all the youth teams, became a youth national player (15 games for the German U17 national team) and last season reached the final of the German championship with the U17 team. Now the 17-year-old has extended his contract with VfB for the long term. The midfielder is currently completing pre-season training with the squad of professional players and will travel to the training camp on Saturday.

Laurin is one of the top talents at our youth training center. Last season, he impressively demonstrated his abilities at national level with our U17s and also with the U19s, as well as internationally with the DFB’s U17 national team. His great potential was also evident in the training sessions and test matches with our professional team to date. Laurin is a true VfB homegrown, so we are delighted that he has decided to continue his promising path from youth player to professional with VfB despite numerous inquiries from other clubs.

Laurin has taken another big step in the past six months and has developed very well. His example is a huge motivation for the entire youth development center, because it shows that together we can put talented players on the path toward the professional squad. He still has many steps to take before he reaches the Bundesliga and we will continue to support him in this.
