Vidović extends contract and turns professional

23. Feb 2022

FC Bayern has prematurely extended Gabriel Vidović’s contract by two years until June 2025. The 18-year-old attacking player’s new contract will automatically become a professional contract on July 1.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić: “Gabriel Vidović is a player who is technically very talented and provides a great scoring threat from the spaces in between. He has been playing with us for six years, has received the best training at the FC Bayern Campus and should take the next step with our professionals.”

Vidović, who was born in Augsburg, joined FC Bayern’s youth team from FC Augsburg in the summer of 2016. With twelve goals and seven assists in 20 appearances in the Bavarian Regionalliga, the Croatian youth international is the second team’s top scorer this season. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann has had him training regularly with the professionals since late fall. He made his first appearance for the squad in the Champions League round of 16 first leg at FC Salzburg.

I am very happy with the trust the club has placed in me and would like to thank everyone at FC Bayern who has accompanied me on my journey so far. I know that this was only a small step now, but I will do everything I can to play for FC Bayern for a long time to come.
